One Free Korea has an update on the ‘Shenyang Six’ North Korean refugees who were arrested by Chinese authorities back in December 2006 - they are free!!!
One Free Korea goes on to explore the possibility that this could be a change of Chinese policy - unfortunately this cynic sees it only as a wise Chinese bureaucrat seeing the Olympics just around the corner…
Apparently they arrived in South Korea on 19 July. A good news story that in our post Cold War brave new world seems destined to reach only those few who inhabit the blogging world… did anyone see anything about these guys in the mainstream media?

Look on the bright side. Maybe the Olympics will have a positive impact on China’s human rights.

Is this really a good news story? Or is this nothing more than a master stroke from some dimwitted Chinese bureacrat who has progressed from one finger playing on a casio organ to a double handed rendition of chopsticks on a pianola?
